The Help. And me afterwards...

To clarify, the below post was actually from last week, I've been busy!!  Today "we" are at home sick today.  Really is is Layla that is sick, but it is more allergies, possible sinus infection?  My head has hurt all.day...so I am pretty sure it's just allergies.  Anyway, moving on...

THE HELP!!!!!  Wow.

I had time today, with Layla on my lap....to finish up the book.  And wow!

Funny...or maybe not so funny thing is...I had a friend that saw the movie and said, "Why did I walk out of the movie, The Help, crying my eyes out?"  My response, "Mm-hmm....I hear everyone is...."  {before I can get out that I am in the midst of reading the book!}  She says....

Nope!  Not gonna ruin it for ya'll who have not seen or read the story.  But that conversation ended with, "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!!!!"  Again, it did not spoil the book for me.  And I really wanna see the movie now.

I cried two times while reading this book.

And found myself HOPING that the amazing author, Kathryn Stockett, write a follow up...a part two...continue following the lives of a few of those characters....

Brilliant piece!!!!

Oh did you just love? I adore The Help. The movie was simply fantastic but I do admit I have not read the book yet.

I just bought this book at the San Francisco Public Library book sale! I'm really excited to start it, although my "To Read" list is excruciatingly long. I've only heard wonderful things about it, so I know I'll love it. I hope Layla feels better soon! xoxoxo

I saw the movie, so loved it but I haven't read the book yet - more and more I think it needs to be on my list!
Plus for me, my BFF went to school in Jackson, MS so just crazy to think about the changes and just southern towns in general with such a closed mind (I'm from SC) and really this wasn't even that long ago.

The book was so good and the movie actually did a great job. Sometimes I feel that the movies never live up to the way I feel about the book, but this one was fantastic!

Found your writing through blog hopping this morning and am a new follower!

I am currently reading The Help and cannot put the book down! It is amazing to read about life 'back then' and appreciate life now. I am so thankful I am able to be with my husband and live freely instead of having to live in secret because we are not of the same color.
