Manic Monday - 07.11.11

When I look down, I miss all the good stuff...when I look up, I just trip over things.

Learn to limit yourself; to content yourself with some definite work; dare to be what you are and learn to resign with a good grace all that you are not; and to believe in your own individuality.

So yeah, of course there is a backstory to my Manic Monday.  There always is....I guess I feel the need to share and explain, step by step....how manic and utterly crazy I am.  Perhaps?

My mom always joked that she should have named me Grace.  Any guesses why?  Yeahhh.....

Same reason I tell Layla, with her clumsy ass!!!  Ha...although we carry GRACE within us...we don't have a bit of it!

grace (gras) n.

1. Seemingly effortless beauty or charm of movement, form, or proportion.

2. A characteristic or quality pleasing for its charm or refinement.

3. A sense of fitness or propriety.

4.   a. A disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill.*
      b. Mercy; clemency.

You see...#1 of the above is what I do not always have.  #2 and #4...I got those down!  But I really needed #1 on Saturday at the Mall.

After a very long day in the sun, a birthday party and non-stop go, go, go...I headed to the Mall with Layla to pick up a birthday gift for my nephew...my 15 year old nephew TODAY...Ethan....Happy Birthday dude.  I decided to throw her butt in her stroller I still have stowed away in my trunk.  There was no way I was gonna haul her butt all over the Mall searching for the Aeropostale store.  Nope, so in the stroller she went.

So, I pause to make our way across the crosswalk of the Mall Parking Lot.  I can tell this big red truck is irritated and doesn't really want to slow down to let me and my baby girl cross.  But, they stop anyway.  And annoyingly wave me across the road.

So, me, being the graceful* (see above definition 4a) person that I am...I put a lil pep in my step and tried to scoot across the road so they can go about their uber important way....

**insert drainage grate**

**add stroller wheel**

**combined with a "pep in my step"**

It did not end too well for me and Layla.  And the stroller.  But, we all survived....thankfully Layla was unhurt.  I, however, am another story.  But this too shall pass, right!?!

I will live to fall another day!

1,000th post...the 4th and some texture too!

First of all, I am a little impressed...a little flabbergasted....a little worried what I have been saying....and a little excited that I am posting my 1,000 post right here.  Right now.  This is it!!!!  Whoo hooo!!!!

{via}

Yeah, it's also a little boring too.  Bare with me...and thanks for sticking by me and reading all my nonsense.

::::::::::

So, I was going through some photos from over the July 4th weekend, and I decided to enchance a few and link up with The Daily Wyatt and take part in a little TEXTURE....

The Daily Wyatt

That piece of sidewalk chalk art is ALL Layla!  Momma did not help....she created that all on her own.  And I just love it.  It kinda looks like an amoeba, right!?!  I think so.

Here are a few more that I love from that mid-summers day!!!!

There is a funny story behind that picture above.  I was playing "volleyball" with the neighborhood kids with that beach ball you see there.  When I hit the ball really high....I loved how it looked in the sky.  So much so that I had to have a picture of it.  Well, hitting a ball that high and then managing to grab your camera and adjust the settings just so....is not an easy thing to do.  But I did it!!!!

After 10 tries....not.too.shabby, eh?!?  It is completely 1,000th post worthy....

Here's to 1,000 more....

who, what, where, huh....blogger?!?!

I can only imagine with the troubles I am still having with blogger....what this might do to us?  Or, our blogs, rather!?!

Google acquired Picasa in 2004 and Blogger (co-founded by Evan Williams of Twitter) in 2003.

Good luck out there.

Innocent vs. Not Guilty

I have many deep feelings over this, but I will simply say:

INNOCENT

in·no·cent (n-snt) adj.

1. Uncorrupted by evil, malice, or wrongdoing; sinless: an innocent child.
2. a. Not guilty of a specific crime or offense; legally blameless: was innocent of all charges.
b. Within, allowed by, or sanctioned by the law; lawful.
3.a. Not dangerous or harmful; innocuous: an innocent prank.
b. Candid; straightforward: a child's innocent stare.
4.a. Not experienced or worldly; naive.
b. Betraying or suggesting no deception or guile; artless.
5. a. Unaware: She remained innocent of the complications she had.
6. Lacking, deprived, or devoid of something.
1. A person, especially a child, who is free of evil or sin.
2. A simple, guileless or, inexperienced.
3. A very young child.

::::::::::

NOT GUILTY

not guilt·y

acquitted: declared not guilty of a specific offense or crime; legally blameless; "she stands acquitted on all charges."

::::::::::

One of the two above definitions is absolutely, unequivocally WRONG and INJUST.  Do I need to tell you which one?  I think not.

I just pray that sweet, innocent baby girl is now in peace, with Our Lord, Our Father in Heaven.

Tasty Tuesday - Red, White and Blue!

Can't you just feel the Red, White and Blue beat pulsating through Layla's core?!?  I know she did.  And I was happy to capture it.  Hope ev'ryone had a beautiful celebratory American weekend!
