status update on the FOUR year old Layla

Layla is such a ball of fun nowadays.  Of course we have frequent break downs...but I am positive this is due to my abudance of spoiling.  It's bad ya'll.  I have to stop it now before she grows into a may-jah DIVA!!!!

{Ms. Mariah "Diva" Carey}

{Miss Layla "trying to act like a diva" - see the comparison?}

You already know she has it in her!  Remember this?

Yeah, well.  This lil one is trying to obtain a "poor sport" attitude....and if you know anything about me...I will NOT tolerate that.  Not.in.the.least!  She asked me this morning to tell her teachers that "I do not like playing musical chairs.  Please tell them I do not have to play."

EXCUSE ME!?!  Um, no.

Other happenings and changes?  Baby girl has hit a growth spurt!!!  We go in a few weeks for her 4 yr. check up at the doc, but if I had to guess...she is probably about 37 lbs. and growing like a weed.  Maybe 40 inches?  We were able to wear some 3T stuff this summer, but forget about that!  She is all 4T now...and some things, I will buy in 5T so she can grow into it.

{Last time we saw Dr. Awesome is when she noticed Layla's heart beat was irregular!}

Dr. Awesome will be happy to see her doing so well!  No sickness over the last year that needed the docs assistance.  Which is HUGE because Layla has breathing issues.  But I am hoping that is something she is growing out of!

Also a daily plea from Layla nowadays is "asking God for a baby sister!"

So now I have officially begun the "thought process" of.....fostering.  I know, I know!!!  Go ahead...I'll wait while you call me crazy!

Thanks!

Let's move on....Layla is also:

1.  Counting up a storm!  And with her fingers.
2.  She can write the entire alphabet, upper and lower case, with just a few letters proving difficult.
3.  She has homework Monday - Thursday.
4.  She is still taking Gymnastics and is really good.  They want her on their "team" but I am gonna save that $200 for something else.  Like...
5.  Hip Hop dance classes. This is high on her to do list!!!!  I have yet to sign her up....remember the "good sport" issue...until that changes.  This waits.
6.  She loves the Disney Show "Shake It Up" and would probably do anything to be on the show.  I truly mean, anything.  Don't dare her...
7.  She says "her" alot when it should really be "she."  Ex: "Her wants me to have a sleep over."  I say "SHE!  She wants you..." on average of 2,198 times a day!!!!
8.  She loves to sing and she loves to dance.  Her rendition of Adele's "Someone Like You" is the sweetest, yet most hilarious thing ever.
9.  She only wants to wear dresses.  And if they don't twirl big enough....she is not a happy camper.
10.  She asked me so sadly the other day while looking in the mirror...."Mommy, please cut off all my curly, crazy hair.  I want hair like Emma's."  {my heart was almost torn in two.  again.  I heart those curls so much.}

11.  Girlfriend loves to play dress up.  Princess, cheerleader, whatever!  As long as it is girly.
12.  She loves boardgames.  Memory is her favorite, with CandyLand and Operation in at a close second.  Probably tied.
13.  She loves to help mommy bake in the kitchen.  AND she really loves to lick the batter off of the spoons.
14.  She is as silly as her momma....comes by it honestly.  She can make a face, that is the spitting image of yours truly.  Cracks.me.up!
15.  I think it is possible she could end up in sales.  She can just about talk you into anything!!!!  And follows it up with a, "That's a good idea!"  While shaking her head yes.....

But all in all....nothing in the world could beat swinging!!!!!  This girl could swing for hours if I allowed her to do so.

So.  I'll end on that.  But you best believe I will be back after her 4 year check up with Dr. Awesome and add in anything I know I forgot!!!

I sure do love you baby girl.  You are the sunshine in my life.....

You know mine went through that phase of not wanting curls too. She wanted her hair long like everyone else's and those curls just have a way of springing up short no matter how long they are!

She's a funny and feisty one, your little girl!

I swear she is the cutest thing I have ever seen! And I love her hair too. I was wondering if she'd stop liking her curls...but I was hoping she wouldn't! My stepdaughter has curly hair like that and she has hated it for a long time. But her mother definitely did not take care of it like you do Layla's. Ever. Not even close! Anyways, she cut it short and now straightens it.

Diva Layla! She's a doll, even with her Divaness. I know her mama will keep that in check when necesary. What's up with not liking musical chairs? LOL. Good luck with the fostering research. My cousin foster-adopted three girls, each when they were infants. The experience has not been without challenges, but it's been filled with all the rewards and blessings that come with being a parent. You certainly have the heart for it. xoxox

Oh my gawsh Melissa, way to make a girl cry. I oh so wish I could hear her sing Adele's song. She is so sweet!

And I get the whole musical chair business. It's like "why bother" but then I realized how fun it was lol.

I'll keep you in my prayers about fostering. I know you'll be a great foster parent.

I could "picture" everything you said....with my imaginary daughter. :-) Hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family.

The not playing musical chairs thing cracks my ish up! Can you distract her from wanting a baby by getting a dog? Probably not a good idea either :) Someday she'll love her curls, I hope she doesn't convince you to cut them.
