I haven't really followed the whole murder investigation - it started 4 years ago?!?! - but I watched the live verdict reveal on people.com. Holy crap - what a story!
I think that it's better to release if there is no guilty without a doubt. Innocent until proven guilty remains. It's like the death penalty , are we really to judge what a man is worthy of dying for? What if you kill and innocent man? I think death should be in Gods hands.
I suppose, in my opinion - I would have thought that our legal system would have done a better job searching for a weapon in Troy Davis' case. I was beyond surprised when all that it took to convict him were a few gun shell casings. Odd.
However, guilty or not guilty - I feel that they both know what they did and if we as a Country took an innocent life, I pray we learn from it, as grim as it may sound - that no one will have to go down the same road as Troy.
