I'm summer sick!!!!

Ugh, ya'll.  I really reeeeeeeally do NOT like being sick in the summer.  Granted, no time is a good time for illness.  But when it is hot outside and you feel like your death bed is around the corner....it's just so uncool.  {that what she said}

I am thinking if someone could bring this tiny piece of paradise to me, I would probably start feeling much better.  Any takers?

I am at this point.

And this will be me as soon as I can get off work and get home.  A hot bath is calling my name.

Meli Monday - update on my pops

Instead of my normal, semi-not-regular Manic Monday posts, I decided to do a Meli Monday post to update on my daddy.

His surgery was postponed last month because he developed kidney stones and an infection that he had to get rid of prior to surgery.  He passed the kidney stones, which are mind numbing-ly painful. He just finished up his antibiotics.  Tomorrow is surgery day.

I really wanted to be with my mom while he was in surgery but I took off two days last month to be with them only for the surgery to get cancelled last minute.  And now....here I sit at work.  Work being insanely insane.  I cannot be with her...

...and that is killing me.

Comfort.  Comfort for me, holding her hand.  Comfort for her.  Holding my hand.  Why is life so tough?  I know I will beat myself on a regular basis for not being there.....

My daddy is having an angiogram this morning.  Lots of prayers going his way would be greatly appreciated.  In other news, there are some changes a happening on the work front.  And it is alllllll good.  Here's to always expecting the unexpected!!!

work shake up

Oh 2013....bringing on the anxiety already?!?  There is a shake up going on at my work this week and I am asking for prayers, good vibes and thoughts for me.  I will update later.  Oh, and if I could turn the below image into my full time working environment ...that'd be great!  Could you work on that for me???

Because I like to live free, with no worries.  Which in reality is not possible.  But I just truly want a drama free work environment and in life I really focus on that!  This is out of my hands at work.....

my migraine aura

I had an frightening experience yesterday when all of the sudden my right eye had a very bright white light appear in the center part of my vision.

I couldn't see anything clearly.  The light in my eye looked something like this....and it was blinding.  And I was getting dizzy.

All I could do is close my eyes.  Lay my head down.  But I was still freaking out a bit.  I didn't know what was happening.

I have experienced migraine headaches since I was a kid, unfortunately.  They are debilitating.  So painful and cruel.  But never have I experienced a migraine aura.

A migraine with aura comes with additional symptoms, which often begin about 30 minutes or less before the headache. These early symptoms are called a prodrome.The prodrome or aura may last for five to 20 minutes, or it may continue even after the headache subsides. Symptoms of aura include:
  • blind spots or scotomas
  • blindness in half of your visual field in one or both eyes (hemianopsia)
  • seeing zigzag patterns (fortification)
  • seeing flashing lights (scintilla)
  • feeling prickling skin (paresthesia)
  • weakness
  • seeing things that aren't really there (hallucinations)

This aura in my eye lasted about 10 minutes and then started floating off to the right side of my field of vision.  It then hit me that....maybe this is a migraine coming on and not something wrong with my vision.  I had heard about migraine auras before, but like I said, never experienced one.

Sure enough I google'd it.  Auras happen for about 10 - 30 minutes before a migraine hits.  While I am reading this....hear comes the headache.

I don't think I mentioned, my thyroid is low again too.  Medication for that now.

What they say is true.  Once you hit 30....it's all down hill from there.  I'm falling apart.

too busy...too busy, indeed!

Funny Workplace Ecard: I'm too busy to tell people how busy I am.

Funny Apology Ecard: I'm sorry I talked to you about work while you were trying to take care of personal business on company time.

...here we go again...

Actually, it is the same old routine.  Work is crazy busy.  Life is hectic and expensive planning a fabulous FIVE year old birthday party.  My grandma is withering away, and I just wish for peace for her.  My mom's birthday is on Saturday.  Layla's a week away from that.  My pain never ends and I am....

....just TIRED.

sh*t happens...and it's happening NOW!

I am in the midst of a breakdown.  I do this.  It's what I do.  Every year, I break.  It all comes out.  Life becomes overwhelming and just all too much for me to process....I could go into detail, but like I have time!?!?  I'm currently busy breaking....

But, I also have enough since to know...that life goes on.  Pick yourself up...carry on.  It's what I have to do.

I know this is truth.  There are so many songs that come to mind right now, but I am too busy to type them all out.

Work is still insanely busy.  That's a good thing, because I have a job to come to, that pays me.  Not complaining, I just miss my outlet here.  I miss you...

The {Pre-K} Graduate

Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you'll make a difference.
~ Arie Pencovici

{Well looky here!  There you are, baby girl!  A Graduate.}

My dearest Layla baby,

Yesterday you embarked on the beginning of what I hope is an incredible educational journey.  We celebrated you yesterday!  All that you have accomplished and learned since beginning at this wonderful Day Care Learning Center more than four years ago.  It seems as if only yesterday I was leaving you as a tiny baby to return to work.  That was a very hard day for me.

And look at you now, kiddo!?!

Every caregiver/teacher you had throughout your duration at this school, loved you as if you were apart of their family.  And you were!  That place is like family to us and seeing all of that coming to a close is hard for momma.  But I know they have provided you with knowledge and early life lessons that will make Kindergarten a breeze for you.  For all the love and tenderness they gave to you when I couldn't...I am forever grateful.

Mommy and daddy are so very proud of you.  We look forward to your future with great expectations!  We love you with all that we are.

Love,
Momma

p.s. As distinguished as you were at your Graduation Ceremony....it tickled me to no end to have you end the day like this...

At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities.

Manic Monday - Labor Day 2011

The men who labored on a rainy night to build a bridge were no ordinary laborers.

They helped us to zip by, and thereby made our lives easier.

Often we turn a blind eye towards laborers and workers who toil to make our lives better.

On this Labor Day, let us acknowledge and appreciate their effort.

Tryin' to catch up Thursday - 06.02.11

I owe you all.  A lot.  I know.

{via}

I know ya'll are just aching to see and hear all about our Oklahoma trip.  I know you are...

But, you see...I have this thing we call a J.O.B. and basically it is killing my blogging time.  Ha!

AND I am headed back outta town again this weekend.  Same state though....so that's a good thang!

{via}

So, I hope I can pick up where I left off...oh no, maybe not that!  Seeing as I still haven't posted all I want to about our New Mexico trip.  That was in March.  *embarrassed*

So, yeah.  That's where I am.

I try not to HATE, but....

I really DESPISE, that's a more accurate word....

When you are speaking to someone.  Who KNOWS you are speaking to them.  And they straight up ignore you, or never look at you, acknowledge you - NOTHING!  Can't.Stand.That!!!!!

{via}

Granted.  This happens to me the most from one person.  Whom I work with.  And let's face it - we should be working.  And I am a chatter.  I can't help it!

I need to just start talking to myself I suppose.  Oh, wait!  I already do that too.  Hmmm...

{via}

I guess I will just leave.em.alone.  It sure seems that is what they want.

But, when they have a question, or a request, or even a funny to share on the internet, I always stop what I am doing and either help out or go have a laugh!

I don't know....I know everyone is different.  I welcome unexpected breaks.  Perhaps, they do not.

Thanks, I guess I just needed to vent.  It kinda hurts my feelings.

{via}

I suppose I should just stop making myself so available all the time.
