Zoo Boo 2011

The Saturday before last, daddy decided he wanted to take Layla to the Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo.  Had I known, I would have put her in her costume, but that's neither here nor there.  He flies by the seat of his pants.  It's just how he rolls.  And I am cool with that....I roll with the punches. 

So off to the zoo we went!  Layla just happened to be in festive attire, so we were all to the good anyway.  Go momma.

While the Zoo Boo festivities were fun, no doubt, I think Layla really enjoyed feeding the giraffes the best.  It was our first time to do this...and it was fun!!!  Giraffes tongues are incredibly long!!!! In case you didn't know.

I just loved this lil guy.  He was just hanging around...waiting for his close up.  So I obliged.

I look half asleep in this picture, but that's okay...daddy did a good job at snappin', so I'll take it!  I only get one chance...and this was it!  Not too shabby.

let's start where we left off...

Whew, I thought last week was hard.  HA!  It ain't got nothing on this past week.

I did what I said I was going to do, and a bit more.  Zoo on {last} Saturday, and Pumpkin Patch on {last} Sunday. 

And then {last} Sunday afternoon turned into a disaster.  Stomach bug ATTACKED with a vengence.

Baby girl was so so so soooooo sick!  I cannot even go into all of it, but it was down right sad.  And pathetic!

So I am just going to rewind for a minute and post what I said I would....a few more features from my cousins wedding.

I plan to do a lot of wedding photography editing this weekend.  And we just may hit up Dewberry Farms for some good ole fashioned Pumpkin Patch fun!!!!  Oh yeah.

Today I am greatful for...

...many, many things!  But especially for the much needed 5 inches of rain that Houston and the South Texas area experienced over the weekend.

I am also thankful to my cousin, for allowing me to capture beautiful memories for him and his bride on their wedding day.

Thankful for the stunning double rainbow that was cast over the wedding grounds just prior to the commitment ceremony.
 

Apparently, a double rainbow is a symbol of transformation.  Well, hello!?!  Yep.  It is also considered a sign from the cosmic universe that something great is about to happen and that one good thing will lead to another.  Pretty cool, eh?  I sure do think so.

I am so very thankful the wedding location had a tree full of rope swings!  For it allowed Layla a place to sit and swing for hours on end, while her momma captured memories and moments to last a lifetime.

Thankful for the cooler weather that these showers ushered in...it almost feels like Autumn.  Almost.

And last but not least, I am so thankful for family.  Without them...life just wouldn't be as full.
