Manic Monday - 12.20.10

People have a hard time letting go of their suffering.

Out of fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.

It's Friday...and, well....

Some days there won't be a song in your heart.

Sing anyway.

Ornament Exchange Goodies

I had a fun time shopping for the Ornaments I gave to Karen....I sure hope she likes these lil guys as much I as I do!!!

I liked 'em so much I had to name 'em!!!!  BoBo, Fancy and Kindu!!!  Respectively.

And now on to the sweet ornaments I received.  It is funny, actually.  Myself and Karen do not know each other personally...and our blog friendship has only begun.  But, boy I tell ya....this lady KNOWS me!!!!

As they say, the proof is in the puddin'.  And the puddin' is below.

I received these precious Crate and Barrel Ornaments.

A shaker?  A martini glass?  And a margarita glass?

Seriously...who told on me like that???!!!???!!!  I absolutely adore them.  And they are undoubtedly MINE.  All mine!!!!

A big thanks goes out to Karen and Shannon for hosting a fun and glorious Exchange!!!  You rock, ladies.  Merry Christmas!!!

Layla's busy = dizzy!

So I found out...figured out...had clarification last night that in fact when Layla has been telling me she was "too busy" and needed to sit down and rest.  She was actually DIZZY, not busy.

Not good.  Regarding the heart.

She was spinning in a circle last night and said, "I'm getting busy!"

That's when it hit me.  So, she is having symptoms to coincide with her 9,000+ irregular heartbeats.

I guess it is good to know before we see the specialist on January 6th.

down right scary

Was my dream last night.

And I think a little back story would be beneficial here before I continue.

When I was in college, my home town of San Antonio was about 4 and a half hours from my college town of Nacogdoches.  And I traveled home alot the first few years.  And I would always have these morbid thoughts of dying in a car accident.

I know, I know.  Terrible thoughts.

Other than the fact that it was a tiny, undivided two lane highway with no street lights to guide you.  With tall East Texas Pine Trees to surround you like you are driving in a tunnel.

Where one night a car was driving on my side of the highway and I slammed on my brakes only to skid out into a 360.  Where the only light you can see for miles is the bright moon in the sky.

But, other than that...I am not sure why I had those morbid car crash thoughts.

Since I stopped making that back and forth trip over 8 years ago, most of those morbid thoughts ceased.  Although I am unsure why seeing as I live in Crazy Driver Town, U.S.A., also known as Houston, Texas.  But, I digress.

I had one of those dreams last night.

If you have ever been in a car accident, then you know how time almost slows down while you are going through the motions.  The reaction.  The impact.  The aftermath.

That happened in my dream.  It was a full on car accident.  With two major impacts.

The initial front end impact.  The spinning of the car.  And the final rear end impact when I hit a concrete highway divider.

And then I woke up.

So it begins.  Again....

Look what I won for Layla!!!

My head grew light.  I started seeing stars.  A fainting spell was close at hand...

And just as that happened....

I jumped up and started screaming and dancing around.

Pretty sure my boss thought I was losing it.  That, or I had won the lottery.

Nope, but it was close.

I won THIS fantastic SCORE of a giveaway for my one and only....Layla!  She is gonna be so flippin' cute!!!!  Well, even cuter, I should say.  We all know girlfriend is tres cute.

Check out some of her fabulous new items....

{I dig that shirt so much.  It says, "It's what inside that counts.  The Mighty Acorns"  Word!}

{And we will now own some headbands that are bold enough to with stand Layla's curlz!  Yay!}

A big thanks and shout-out to Matilda Jane Clothing and Snazzie Drawers for this amazing early Christmas gift!!!  This will be a Christmas to remember and one to try and top!

Manic Monday - 12.13.10

Christmas is not a time nor a season,

but a state of mind.

To cherish peace and goodwill,

to be plenteous in mercy,

is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
