Meli Monday - No Justice for Trayvon Martin

Myself, as well as many of you, I assume ~ are heartbroken, sad, disgusted over the Trayvon Martin trial outcome.  It hurts my soul so deeply to see this country in the shape it is in.  The Justice System....is flawed, to say the least.

And we now know, it wasn't an alleged murdered....but a murderer, who was aquitted.

So what comes next?

Hopes & Dreams

As AMERICANS we should ALL STAND and see to it that JUSTICE is served and that Trayvon Martin did not die in vain.  With skittles and juice in his pockets.  CIVIL RIGHTS ARE CIVIL RIGHTS!!!

I, too, am tired.  And this time...I AM NOT GIVING UP!!!!!

Where did I leave off last time?  Ahhh, yes, NEW BEGINNINGS.   Up next....

Meli Monday - Red Hot Chili Peppers!!!!

I had a fabulous Saturday night!!!  A very special friend of mine called me up and invited me to go with her to the Red hot Chili Peppers concert with her in San Antonio on Saturday night.  VIP, backstage passes!!!!  I'd be a crazy b*tch to say no....I mean, I am a crazy b*tch but not when it comes to this.

Seats?  Ahhhh-mazing!!!

No zoom lens required....we were just that close!!!!  :)

Concert?  Ba.nan.as!!!!!!

A memory to last a lifetime?  No doubt.

Could I watch Mr. Anthony Kiedis dance around on the stage in "his" cool way alllll night?  Yessir!!!!

Still on a concert high?  But of course...

The only downside...those backstage passes?  They were good.  We got back there after the show.  But they were in the hospitality room before the show.  #majorfail

Buuuuut.....I still had an amazing time!  Mind blowing.

This is what I looked like before the concert.

After the concert?  Ummm....I'll pass on the pic.  Just picture sweaty, elated....all with a RHCP shirt on.  Like this....

silly fun - my doppelganger

Doppelgänger: (German "double walker") (pronounced [ˈdɔpəlˌɡɛŋɐ]) is a paranormal double of a living person, typically representing evil or misfortune. In modern vernacular, the word has come to refer to any double or look-alike of a person.

A Mommas Desires and Pacifiers

Okay...so I am gonna have a leetle fun today and I hope you will join me!  I may be a tad late to this par-tay, but that is nothing new!

I am using this sweet lil pic I snapped up while at Layla's Mini Olympics on Sunday.  {more on that later!}

And while I have been told I resemble Rachel Bilson....{which I don't see!}

Oh, and I guy I work with calls me 'Spice Girl' because he thinks I resemble uber-skinny {obviously not because of the body} Victoria Beckham...{again, sooooo.not.seeing it!}

This quirky lil site seems to think I resemble Mary-Kate Olsen and/or Ashanti.  Oh, and Harrison Ford, too!  Thaaaaanks!  But we are NOT going there today.

What say ye?!?  Who do you think I look like?

Who is YOUR doppelganger?

le Oscars

Yes, I know I am late.  Yes, I know the Oscars were on Sunday.  Yes, I know today is Tuesday.  And yes, here are my favorite fashions.

My numero uno choice, Miss Emma Watson.  She looks stunning.

Ms. Viola Davis killed it in this number.  And rocking the al naturale hair.  Tres loves.

I don't think Michelle Williams has looked better.  Smashing!

Why hello Ms. Octavia Spencer!?!  Gorgeous...to go along with that outstanding award.  Congrats, you deserved it.

Milla!!!  Ms. Jovoich, this is what defines a killer look.  But, smile, would ya?

And kudos to Mrs. Guiliana Rancic for highlighting what was just taken away from her.  What a gorgeous lady, and what a statement!?

Um, Miss Kate Mara....I love your dress.  But please learn how to pose.  Everyone will thank you.

{is this dress falling off or does her pose just make it seem that way?  ponder.}

And hooray!!!!  I did not like Tina Fey's dress at the Globes, but she looks 100% more confident here.  Loves.  Because she should be confident in what she wears.

Miss Keibler.  Oh Stacy, Stacy, Stacy!!!!  You are one lucky lady...either way - George Clooney went hope with a Golden Statue.  ha.

{can't decide if I love or hate this!?!}

I adore the sophisticated tuxedo-like gowns on these two lovely ladies!  Va-va-vooom!!!!!

Mrs. Glenn Close, you are looking mighty fine.  Werk it!!!

And Ms. Louise Roe...just because I didn't know who you were....doesn't mean I don't now!  Very well played...

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

and now The Globes!

The Golden Globes, that is!  And fashion...that's what it is really about riiight!?  Right!

Up first, my absolute favorite....Ms. Kate Beckinsale!  Isn't she divine!?!  So fabulous.

And although I thought Ms. Jessica Alba looked waaaaay.tooooo. fake tanned...I did love that dress!  What's wrong with fair skin?  I'd like to know!

I thought Claire Daines looked modern and edgy, but the back of the dress was gorg!!!

L.O.V.E.!!!

Tina Fey's dress was uber cool.  In my opinion, it looked as if she felt awkward though.  Do you agree?

And I could not find a great picture of Felicity Huffman....but her dress was ah-mazing as well.  Work it!

{sorry for the weird facial expression, Ms. Huffman!  It's all I could find.}

Now you KNOW I could not post on Miss Angie baby without including hunka-hunka hubby!  Gosh, he looks great.  Her dress, lips, accessories are all fantastic....but I wanna eat a cheeseburger FOR HER!  I mean, her shoulder bone is protruding for heaven sake!!!! Icky.

And now for a few stand outs of the evening...litterally!  Maria Menounos!  Bow chicka bow wow.  Hotness.  And HELLO yellow!

She wore it better than Paula Patton....but I still liked that stand out quality on her too.

AND NOW....

WOW!!!!

Dame Helen Mirren KNOWS fashion.  Either that or she has a great fantabulous stylist!  Either way...lady knows how to rock it.  She knocked all of the, ahem, older actresses outta the water.  I mean....come on!  Absolutely stunning!

p.s. Madonna's acceptance speech was aw-kward times a billion.  Anyone else agree!?  Plus, did you hear all the cattiness between her and Sir Elton?!  They both need to get ov-ah themselves.

Chris Rene got our vote!

Myself and Layla were kinda sorta really into X Factor....and I adored Chris Rene from the beginning.

So the finale is tonight and you know....all three finalists are worthy....but to say I am pulling for this young man...is an extreme understatement.  Chris Rene....all.the.way!!!!

It's always my favorite feeling in the world, when I sit, in this chair, and I meet a star for the first time. There is something about you....
Maybe you need the show; maybe we need you?

long live TuPac

15 years gone and his music still moves me the way it did back then.

Tupac Amaru Shakur
June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996

I heard Brenda's got a baby,
but Brenda's barely got a brain.
A damn shame, the girl can hardly spell her name.

~ Brenda's Got a Baby by TuPac

I can remember hearing "Brenda's got a Baby" back in the day...middle school...and it was profound.  Huge for me.  It opened my eyes to a world, I hadn't yet experienced, but soon would with friends in high school.

Today I remember TuPac.  For the music he left us for eternity.  R.I.P.

10 years...still remembering...still groovin'

Aaliyah Dana Haughton
January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001

It's hard to say what I want my legacy to be when I'm long gone.

~ Aaliyah

No doubt her music, her legacy, and what she represented - and still represents - means more than I could ever express in words.  So, today....I remember her.  And celebrate her beautiful, yet all too short life.

Rest In Peace, Baby Girl.

Love Sublime.  Love the talent that was Amy Winehouse.  Perfection....

Hindsight - Quotes of Amy Winehouse

I'm of the school of thought where, if you can't sort something out for yourself, no one can help you. Rehab is great for some people but not others.

I know I'm talented, but I wasn't put here to sing. I was put here to be a wife and a mom and look after my family. I love what I do, but it's not where it begins and ends.
