Happy St. Patrick's Day, ya'll!

I'm a little leprechaun dressed in green,
the tiniest little lady that you ever have seen.
If you ever catch me, so it's told...
I'll give you my big pot of gold.
Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!!!

Let's hear it for Tyler!

Yesterday our good friends little girl, Tyler, had her second cochlear implant attached to her left ear. We are so excited for her!!! There will be so much joy in seeing Tyler's new "listening world" errupt with so many new experiences! Please know we are praying for a speedy recovery!!! We love you, Tyler.

It's Rodeo Time in Texas!!!

We LOVE this time of year. Rodeo time in Houston!!! It is so much fun and we look forward to starting the spring off in cowboy/cowgirl fashion. Take a look at our favorite little red headed cowgirl last year...
Our friends, Steve and Margie came in town from San Antonio for the Houston Rodeo opening weekend and we had a fun filled day at the rodeo carnival. Layla was able to ride her very first carnival rides and they proved to be fun, and well, some not so fun! But, a great time was had by all! In fact, we had so much fun, we came back for the closing weekend too! Layla LOVES her pink boots and I think we will be seeing much more of the Daisy Duke style outfits this summer. I have been told many stories about her daddies cowboy boots (in many colors, I might add) when he was little, so it is quite fitting! She looked adorable...here she is getting a little banana snack before our big rodeo day!!!
THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKIN'...AND THAT'S JUST WHAT THEY DID!

That darn gray hair!!!

This one is especially for you Tara! (And my sweet momma!)

This is so ironic?!?! Myself and Tara were JUST talking about our gray hair yesterday...most of us know how those conversations go!!! "Look at mine!" "OMG! Mine are everywhere!" "You can barely see them." Blah, blah, blah...

I asked THE question - "I wonder why our hair turns gray?"
Tara responded - "That is the funny thing, scientists still do not know what causes our hair to turn gray!"
Well, that same night on the nightly news I saw a study recently released that was completed...we now know why our hair turns gray...see below article!

I think gray is beautiful and we should all embrace ours! I truly do!
Ha! I just dyed my hair last night and will continue to...until I go snow white like my momma!

Twinsies, old friends and sniffles

This past weekend myself, Richard and Layla took a road trip to Dallas/Ft. Worth area to catch up with some old friends. Richard stayed with a college friend, Cory Tuck, in Dallas, and myself and Layla stayed with an old high school friend, Caroline, and her husband and their two twins that were born on August 30, 2008. This was the first visit I was able to make up to Ft. Worth to see Caroline since she had the babies!!! I was so excited to meet them in person. The previous time I went to see Caroline was at the end of August and we were suppose to throw her a baby shower....but, the babies decided to make their grand entrance that weekend too. On Caroline's 30th birthday, no less.

The babies are just precious. James is a little man. He looks just like daddy!!! And Lauren is gorgeous. Beautiful bright blue eyes. They are like night and day and compliment eachother perfectly.

Kristen and Nicole also drove up from San Antonio so we could all catch up and be together again. We use to have Girls' Weekend every April, but with everyone having babies (me and Caroline) and the others both being pregnant (Nicole and Kristen) it is hard to make those weekends happen nowadays. It was so lovely to see my old friends again, despite all of our sniffles!!! We were all sick, or getting over an illness, except for Kristen! The school teacher who is exposed to every strain of virus out there - she was well, of course. We were all beyond determined not to cancel the weekend plans, and most of us were miserable!!!
I hope to see those ladies more often, as they always find a way to brighten my spirits! Love you girls.
